When Should I Sell My House

Factors affecting the timing of selling our house can be affected by the urgency to secure cash. Be it for another investment or to pre-empt foreclosure. Many people when they are in a hurry to sell their house sell at a wrong time when the amount they get from the sale could have been more.

Basically, I would sell my house when I see that there is a sellers’ market where buyers are more than houses for sale or when the demand is greater than the supply of houses. This usually results to higher prices and this occurs when home mortgage interest rates are low, the economy is booming and investors’ confidence in your area is high.

Investors or buyers confidence is high is a result of good schools in the area, low crime rate, employment opportunities in the area or nearby areas. Nearness to a major city can also be a factor to increase the value of the house.

So when you sell your house, make sure you have the luxury of time and not be forced to do a quick sale.
